Poisoning

Medical Definition:	A condition or physical state produced by the ingestion, injection or inhalation of, or exposure to a deleterious agent.

Poisoning Categories.

	Bites and Stings
	Cadmium Poisoning - Poisoning occurring after exposure to cadmium compounds or fumes. It may cause gastrointestinal syndromes, anemia, or pneumonitis.
	Carbon Tetrachloride Poisoning
	Drug Toxicity - Manifestations of the adverse effects of drugs administered therapeutically or in the course of diagnostic techniques. It does not include accidental or intentional poisoning for which specific headings are available.
	Ergotism - Poisoning caused by ingesting ergotized grain or by the misdirected or excessive use of ergot as a medicine.
	Fluoride Poisoning - GEN or unspecified fluoride; prefer /pois with specific fluoride term
	Food Poisoning
	Gas Poisoning
	Lead Poisoning
	Mercury Poisoning
	Mycotoxicosis - Poisoning caused by the ingestion of mycotoxins (toxins of fungal origin).
	Overdose - An accidental or deliberate dose of a medication or street drug that is in excess of what is normally used.
	Plant Poisoning - Poisoning by the ingestion of plants or its leaves, berries, roots or stalks. The manifestations in both humans and animals vary in severity from mild to life threatening. In animals, especially domestic animals, it is usually the result of ingesting moldy or fermented forage.
	Psychoses, Substance-Induced - Psychotic organic mental disorders resulting from the toxic effect of drugs and chemicals or other harmful substance.
