Enterocytes
Medical Definition: | Terminally differentiated cells comprising the majority of the external surface of the intestinal epithelium (see INTESTINAL MUCOSA). Unlike GOBLET CELLS, they do not produce or secrete mucins, nor do they secrete cryptdins as do the PANETH CELLS. |
