Medical Definition:	A class of acids containing a ring structure in which atleast one atom other than CARBON is incorporated.

Acids, Heterocyclic Categories.

	Cinoxacin - Synthetic antimicrobial related to OXOLINIC ACID and NALIDIXIC ACID and used in URINARY TRACT INFECTIONS.
	Indoleacetic Acids - Acetic acid derivatives of the heterocyclic compound indole. (Merck Index, 11th ed)
	Isonicotinic Acids - Heterocyclic acids that are derivatives of 4-pyridinecarboxylic acid (isonicotinic acid).
	Isonipecotic Acids
	Nicotinic Acids - 2-, 3-, or 4-Pyridinecarboxylic acids. Pyridine derivatives substituted with a carboxy group at the 2-, 3-, or 4-position. The 3-carboxy derivative (NIACIN) is active as a vitamin.
