Anthracenes

Medical Definition:	A group of compounds with three aromatic rings joined in linear arrangement.

Anthracenes Categories.

	Anthralin - An anti-inflammatory anthracene derivative used for the treatment of DERMATOSES, especially PSORIASIS. It may cause folliculitis.
	Benzanthracenes - Generally, hydrocarbons in which a benzene and anthracene ring have a double bond in common. (Grant & Grant, Grant & Hackh's Chemical Dictionary, 5th ed)
	Maprotiline - A bridged-ring tetracyclic antidepressant that is both mechanistically and functionally similar to the tricyclic antidepressants, including side effects associated with its use.
