Neoplastic Processes

Medical Definition:	The pathological mechanisms and forms taken by tissue during degeneration into a neoplasm and its subsequent activity.

Neoplastic Processes Categories.

	Anaplasia - Loss of structural differentiation and useful function of neoplastic cells.
	Cell Transformation, Neoplastic - Cell changes manifested by escape from control mechanisms, increased growth potential, alterations in the cell surface, karyotypic abnormalities, morphological and biochemical deviations from the norm, and other attributes conferring the ability to invade, metastasize, and kill.
	Cocarcinogenesis - The combination of two or more different factors in the production of cancer.
	Neoplasm Invasiveness - Ability of neoplasms to infiltrate and actively destroy surrounding tissue.
	Neoplasm Metastasis - The transfer of a neoplasm from one organ or part of the body to another remote from the primary site.
	Neoplasm Recurrence, Local - The local recurrence of a neoplasm following treatment. It arises from microscopic cells of the original neoplasm that have escaped therapeutic intervention and later become clinically visible at the original site.
	Neoplasm Regression, Spontaneous - Disappearance of a neoplasm or neoplastic state without the intervention of therapy.
