Decarboxylation

Medical Definition: The removal of a carboxyl group, usually in the form of carbon dioxide, from a chemical compound.
Guide Notes: almost never IM; enzymatic decarboxylation: coord NIM with CARBOXY-LYASES (IM) + substrate (NIM) or specific carboxy-lyase (IM)
