Neutrophils

Medical Definition: Granular leukocytes having a nucleus with three to five lobes connected by slender threads of chromatin, and cytoplasm containing fine inconspicuous granules and stainable by neutral dyes.
Guide Notes: A 11 qualif; decrease in no. = NEUTROPENIA; neutrophil chemotaxis: coord NIM with CHEMOTAXIS, LEUKOCYTE (IM); note X ref LE CELLS: do not coord with LUPUS ERYTHEMATOSUS, SYSTEMIC unless disease is particularly discussed (see note there)
