Elasmobranchii
Medical Definition: | A subclass of cartilaginous fish comprising the SHARKS, rays, skates (SKATES (FISH)), and sawfish. Elasmobranchs are typically predaceous, relying more on smell (the olfactory capsules are relatively large) than sight (the eyes are relatively small) for obtaining their food. |
