Nucleic Acids, Nucleotides, and Nucleosides
Medical Definition: | Complex compounds of high molecular weight occurring in living cells. These are basically of two types, ribonucleic (RNA) and deoxyribonucleic (DNA) acids, both of which consist of nucleotides (nucleoside phosphates linked together by phosphate bridges). |
Guide Notes: | not used for indexing; NUCLEIC ACIDS; NUCLEOTIDES; & NUCLEOSIDES are available CATALOG: do not use |
Antisense Elements (Genetics) - Nucleic acids which hybridize to complementary sequences in other target nucleic acids causing the function of the latter to be affected.
Nucleic Acid Precursors - Use for nucleic acid precursors in general or for which there is no specific heading.
Nucleic Acids - High molecular weight polymers containing a mixture of purine and pyrimidine nucleotides chained together by ribose or deoxyribose linkages. |
