Tachycardia

Medical Definition:	Excessive rapidity in the action of the heart, usually with a heart rate above 100 beats per minute.
Guide Notes:	GEN or unspecified: prefer specific types; exercise tachycardia = HEART RATE (IM) + EXERTION (NIM)

Tachycardia Categories.

	Tachycardia, Paroxysmal - Condition marked by attacks of rapid action of the heart having sudden onset and cessation.
	Tachycardia, Supraventricular - A generic expression for any tachycardia that originates above the BUNDLE OF HIS.
	Tachycardia, Ventricular - An abnormally rapid ventricular rhythm with wide QRS complexes, usually in excess of 150 per minute. It is generated within the ventricle, below the BUNDLE OF HIS, and is most commonly associated with atrioventricular dissociation.
