Transcriptional Elongation Factors
Medical Definition: | Transcription factors whose primary function is to regulate the rate in which RNA is transcribed. |
Also Called: | Transcriptional Elongation Inhibitory Factors |
Positive Transcriptional Elongation Factor B - A transcriptional elongation factor complex that is comprised of a heterodimer of CYCLIN-DEPENDENT KINASE 9 and one of several CYCLINS including cyclin T1, T2 and K. It functions by phosphorylating the carboxy-terminal domain (CTD) of RNA POLYMERASE II, which results in more processive transcription complexes. |
