Neurotoxins
Medical Definition: | Toxic substances from microorganisms, plants or animals that interfere with the functions of the nervous system. Most venoms contain neurotoxic substances. Myotoxins are included in this concept. |
Guide Notes: | /antag permitted but consider also ANTITOXINS; coord IM with toxin or venom heading which is the source of the neurotoxin (e.g., SEA SNAKE VENOMS) (IM or NIM) but note that COBRA NEUROTOXINS is available; do not use for neurotoxicity of various chemicals |
