Thermoproteaceae
Medical Definition: | A family of THERMOPROTEALES consisting of variable length rigid rods without septa. They grow either chemolithoautotrophically or by sulfur respiration. The four genera are: PYROBACULUM, THERMOPROTEUS, Caldivirga, and Thermocladium. (From Bergey's Manual of Systematic Bacteriology, 2d ed) |
