Medical Definition: | Steroid-producing cells in the interstitial tissue of the TESTIS. They are under the regulation of PITUITARY HORMONE, LUTEINIZING HORMONE or interstitial cell-stimulating hormone. TESTOSTERONE is the major androgen (ANDROGENS) produced. |
