Transplantation

Medical Definition:	Transference of a tissue or organ, alive or dead, within an individual, between individuals of the same species, or between individuals of different species.

Transplantation Categories.

	Cell Transplantation - Transference of cells within an individual, between individuals of the same species, or between individuals of different species.
	Organ Transplantation - Transference of an organ between individuals of the same species or between individuals of different species.
	Replantation - Restoration of an organ or other structure to its original site.
	Tissue Transplantation - Transference of tissue within an individual, between individuals of the same species, or between individuals of different species.
	Transplantation, Autologous - Transplantation from another site in or on the body of the individual receiving it.
	Transplantation, Heterologous - Transplantation between animals of different species.
	Transplantation, Heterotopic - Transplantation of tissue typical of one area to a different recipient site. The tissue may be autologous, heterologous, or homologous.
	Transplantation, Homologous - Transplantation between individuals of the same species. Usually refers to genetically disparate individuals in contradistinction to isogeneic transplantation for genetically identical individuals.
