LDL-Receptor Related Proteins
Medical Definition: | A family of proteins that share sequence similarity with the low density lipoprotein receptor (RECEPTORS, LDL). |
Previously Indexed: | Receptors, Immunologic (1990-2001) |
LDL-Receptor Related Protein 1 - A LDL-receptor related protein involved in clearance of chylomicron remnants and of activated ALPHA-MACROGLOBULINS from plasma. | |
LDL-Receptor Related Protein 2 - A LDL-RECEPTOR RELATED PROTEIN found in the neuroepithelium and in proximal tubular cells of the kidney. It is considered a multiligand receptor in that it binds to a variety of ligands with relatively high affinity and may function in mediating the uptake and lysosomal degradation of macromolecules such as: LIPOPROTEINS, ENDOPEPTIDASES and PROTEASE INHIBITORS. |
