Cartilage
Medical Definition: | A non-vascular form of connective tissue composed of CHONDROCYTES embedded in a matrix of type II COLLAGEN and CHONDROITIN SULFATE. It is divided into three types: hyaline cartilage, fibrocartilage, and yellow or elastic white fibrocartilage. |
