Medical Definition: | A normally saprophytic mitosporic Chaetothyriales fungal genus. Infections in humans include phaeohyphomycosis, peritonitis, and chromoblastomycosis. Exophiala jeanselmei (previously Phialophora jeanselmei) is an etiological agent of maduromycosis. |
