Methanobacterium
Medical Definition: | A genus of anaerobic, rod-shaped METHANOBACTERIACAE. Its organisms are nonmotile and use ammonia as the sole source of nitrogen. These methanogens are found in aquatic sediments, soil, sewage, and the gastrointestinal tract of animals. |
