Hyperlipidemia

Medical Definition:	An excess of lipids in the blood.

Hyperlipidemia Categories.

	Hypercholesterolemia - Abnormally high levels of cholesterol in the blood.
	Hyperlipoproteinemia - Metabolic disease characterized by excess plasma LIPOPROTEINS.
	Hypertriglyceridemia - Condition of elevated triglyceride concentration in the blood; an inherited form occurs in familial hyperlipoproteinemia IIb and HYPERLIPOPROTEINEMIA TYPE IV. It has been linked to higher risk of heart disease and arteriosclerosis.
