Reinforcement (Psychology)

Extinction (Psychology) - The procedure of presenting the conditioned stimulus without reinforcement to an organism previously conditioned. It refers also to the diminution of a conditioned response resulting from this procedure. | |
Knowledge of Results (Psychology) - A principle that learning is facilitated when the learner receives immediate evaluation of learning performance. The concept also hypothesizes that learning is facilitated when the learner is promptly informed whether a response is correct, and, if incorrect, of the direction of error. | |
Punishment - The application of an unpleasant stimulus or penalty for the purpose of eliminating or correcting undesirable behavior. | |
Reinforcement Schedule - A schedule prescribing when the subject is to be reinforced or rewarded in terms of temporal interval in psychological experiments. The schedule may be continuous or intermittent. | |
Reinforcement, Social - The strengthening of a response with a social reward such as a nod of approval, a parent's love or attention. | |
Reinforcement, Verbal - Use of word stimulus to strengthen a response during learning. | |
Reward - An object or a situation that can serve to reinforce a response, to satisfy a motive, or to afford pleasure. |
