Memory
Medical Definition: | Complex mental function having four distinct phases: (1) memorizing or learning, (2) retention, (3) recall, and (4) recognition. Clinically, it is usually subdivided into immediate, recent, and remote memory. |

Deja Vu - A subjective feeling that an experience which is occurring for the first time has been experienced before. | |
Memory, Short-Term - Temporary storage of information for a few seconds to hours, as opposed to long-term memory which refers to material stored for days, years, or a lifetime. | |
Mental Recall - The process whereby a representation of past experience is elicited. | |
Recognition (Psychology) - The knowledge or perception that someone or something present has been previously encountered. | |
Retention (Psychology) - The persistence to perform a learned behavior (facts or experiences) after an interval has elapsed in which there has been no performance or practice of the behavior. |
