Renal Artery Obstruction

Medical Definition: Narrowing or occlusion of the renal arteries. It is due usually to atherosclerosis, fibromuscular dysplasia, thrombosis, embolism, or external pressure. It may result in renovascular hypertension.
Guide Notes: obstruct of external or internal origin; renal artery thrombosis: coord IM with THROMBOSIS (IM); consider also HYPERTENSION, RENOVASCULAR (hypertension caused by renal artery obstruct or compress)
