Urinary Tract Infections

Medical Definition:	Infections affecting those structures of the body which participate in the secretion and elimination of urine, i.e., the kidney, the ureters, the urinary bladder, and the urethra.

Urinary Tract Infections Categories.

	Bacteriuria - The presence of bacteria in the urine with or without consequent urinary tract infection. Since BACTERIURIA is a clinical entity, the term does not preclude the use of URINE/microbiology for technical discussions on the isolation and segregation of bacteria in the urine.
	Pyuria
	Schistosomiasis haematobia - Schistosomiasis caused by SCHISTOSOMA HAEMATOBIUM. It is endemic in Africa and parts of the Middle East, and affects the urinary tract.
