Esophageal Spasm, Diffuse

Medical Definition: A motor disorder of the esophagus characterized by chest pain and dysphagia. Pathogenesis is unclear. Strong, nonpropulsive contractions of the esophagus evoked by deglutition occur, especially in the elderly.
