Diagnostic Techniques, Respiratory System Categories.

	Bronchoscopy - Endoscopic examination, therapy or surgery of the bronchi.
	Laryngoscopy - Examination, therapy or surgery of the interior of the larynx performed with a specially designed endoscope.
	Mucociliary Clearance - A non-specific host defense mechanism that removes MUCUS and other material from the LUNGS by ciliary and secretory activity of the tracheobronchial submucosal glands. It is measured in vivo as mucus transfer, ciliary beat frequency, and clearance of radioactive tracers.
	Nasal Provocation Tests - Application of allergens to the nasal mucosa. Interpretation includes observation of nasal symptoms, rhinoscopy, and rhinomanometry. Nasal provocaton tests are used in the diagnosis of nasal hypersensitivity, including hay fever.
	Respiratory Function Tests - Measurement of the various processes involved in the act of respiration: inspiration, expiration, oxygen and carbon dioxide exchange, lung volume and compliance, etc.
	Rhinomanometry - Technique for measuring air pressure and the rate of airflow in the nasal cavity during respiration.
	Rhinometry, Acoustic - Diagnostic measurement of the nose and its cavity through acoustic reflections. Used to measure nasal anatomical landmarks, nasal septal deviation, and nasal airway changes in response to allergen provocation tests (NASAL PROVOCATION TESTS).
