Prognosis
Medical Definition: | A prediction of the probable outcome of a disease based on a individual's condition and the usual course of the disease as seen in similar situations. |

Disease-Free Survival - Period after successful treatment in which there is no appearance of the symptoms or effects of the disease. | |
Medical Futility - The absence of a useful purpose or useful result in a diagnostic procedure or therapeutic intervention. The situation of a patient whose condition will not be improved by treatment or instances in which treatment preserves permanent unconsciousness or cannot end dependence on intensive medical care. Pregnancy Outcome - Results of conception and ensuing pregnancy, including LIVE BIRTH; STILLBIRTH; SPONTANEOUS ABORTION; INDUCED ABORTION. The outcome may follow natural or artificial insemination or any of the various ASSISTED REPRODUCTIVE TECHNIQUES, such as EMBRYO TRANSFER or FERTILIZATION IN VITRO. | |
Treatment Outcome - Evaluation undertaken to assess the results or consequences of management and procedures used in combating disease in order to determine the efficacy, effectiveness, safety, practicability, etc., of these interventions in individual cases or series. |
