Rh Isoimmunization
| Medical Definition: | The process by which fetal Rh+ erythrocytes enter the circulation of an Rh- mother during delivery, causing her to produce IMMUNOGLOBULIN G antibodies, which can cross the placenta and destroy the erythrocytes of Rh- fetuses in subsequent pregnancies. |
