Medical Definition: | A genus of fungi in the family Ganodermataceae, order APHYLLOPHORALES, containing a dimitic hyphal system. It causes a white rot, and is a wood decomposer. Ganoderma lucidum (REISHI) is used in traditional Chinese medicine (MEDICINE, CHINESE TRADITIONAL). |
