Medical Definition: | A large family of narrow-leaved herbaceous grasses of the order Cyperales, subclass Commelinidae, class Liliopsida (monocotyledons). Food grains (CEREALS) come from members of this family. HAY FEVER can be induced by POLLEN of many of the grasses. |
