Chenopodiaceae

Medical Definition:	The goosefoot plant family of the order Caryophyllales, subclass Caryophyllidae, class Magnoliopsida. It includes beets and chard (BETA VULGARIS), as well as SPINACH, and salt tolerant plants.

Chenopodiaceae Categories.

	Atriplex - A plant genus in the CHENOPODIACEAE family.
	Bassia scoparia - A plant species of the family CHENOPODIACEAE. It is a source of furonaphthoquinones. The common name of burning bush is also used with the unrelated EUONYMUS sieboldianus.
	Beta vulgaris - A species of the Beta genus. Cultivars are used as a source of beets (root) or chard (leaves).
	Chenopodium - A plant genus in the CHENOPODIACEAE family.
	Salsola - A plant genus of the family CHENOPODIACEAE. The extract may be called lochein. Tumbleweed may occasionally refer to AMARANTHUS.
	Spinach - A widely cultivated plant, Spinacia oleracea, native to Asia, having succulent, edible leaves eaten as a vegetable. (From American Heritage Dictionary, 1982)
