Ehrlichia

Medical Definition: Small, often pleomorphic, coccoid to ellipsoidal organisms occurring intracytoplasmically in circulating LYMPHOCYTES. They are the etiologic agents of tick-borne diseases of humans, DOGS, CATTLE, SHEEP, GOATS, and HORSES.
