Mental Processes
Medical Definition: | Conceptual functions or thinking in all its forms. |
Cognition - Intellectual or mental process whereby an organism becomes aware of or obtains knowledge. | |
Learning - Relatively permanent change in behavior that is the result of past experience or practice. The concept includes the acquisition of knowledge. | |
Perception - The process by which the nature and meaning of sensory stimuli are recognized and interpreted. | |
Thinking - Mental activity, not predominantly perceptual, by which one apprehends some aspect of an object or situation based on past learning and experience. | |
Volition - Voluntary activity without external compulsion. |
