Cell Differentiation

Medical Definition: Progressive restriction of the developmental potential and increasing specialization of function that leads to the formation of specialized cells, tissues, and organs.
Guide Notes: cell differentiation is a normal process in morphogenesis: do not confuse with CYTOPATHOGENIC EFFECT, VIRAL or CELL TRANSFORMATION, NEOPLASTIC; the specific differentiating cell: coord CELL DIFFERENTIATION with specific cell /cytol; not for micro-organism
